Followformation Olympic Edition is a special edition of Followformation devoted to helping Twitter users keep tabs on the latest during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Please click here to view the press release detailing the entire initiative.
While we've put in a lot of effort and hard work into hand-picking and finding the best categories and tweeters to fill those categories, we may have missed some people. Please use the following options below to visit some of our lovely Google forms to help point us in the right direction. You rock!
Followformation is a tool for novice
users (we call them "chirpers") to get started with following the top people in the categories of their interest, and top people in the cities in which they live in. You can call it Twitter's suggested users feature on steroids, or even the Alltop for Twitter - with an opportunity for anyone to be a part of it.
Followformation was created by Aer Marketing Inc. and is first in a series of tools designed to help social media novices get started on different network services out on the web. It is the brainchild of Brian Wong and Lucas Lemanowicz.
Followformation uses several Twitter user directories (such as WeFollow, Twitterholic, GeoFollow, etc.) for its categories. Lists are updated in regular intervals.
Followformation uses the Twitter API to work its magic. The API requires user credentials to execute user-specific actions, especially if it is related to a user's account. This information is never, ever, ever stored. Please view our Privacy Policy and TOS documents below for more details.
Followformation has strict rules designed to discourage abuse and gaming. We vary our follow limits daily to discourage over usage. Excessive follow activity may result in Twitter terminating your account. We are limiting each individual user to 150 people per hour.
Up to 10% of the auto-followed lists from any category will be paid placements. These users are all hand-approved and have chosen our paid formation services to build awareness. For information on how to be a part of the paid formation lists, please click here.
We will dedicate at least one paid spot in each category for charitable organizations, charitable causes, and non-profit organizations. To apply, please contact us.
Please feel free to apply this badge to your website or web property to signify your "featured" status.
Without these people, Followformation would not even exist (in no particular order): The Aer Team: Lucas Lemanowicz, Brian Wong (Brian Wong's Twitter), Peter Kim, Gavin Dew, Johnny Lee, Cole Nakatani, Ali Gangji, and: Rob Lewis, Courtney Johnston, Stephanie Corker Irwin, Christopher Bennett, Ryan Holmes, Michael Yurechko, Tyler Wright, Peter Reek. Thank you so much!!!!!!
